We are implementing procedures that uphold the highest safety standards. In accordance with the Official Phase 2 Personal Services COVID-19 Requirements, we have implemented the following measures to ensure the health and safety of our team, our guests, and our community:

GUEST EXPECTATIONS

Prior to your reservation, you must complete a Service Agreement Form. These forms are available online, but are also be available to sign when you arrive. We encourage you to submit this required form prior to arriving for your reservation, both to familiarize yourself with what to expect and to eliminate touch points within the salon.

Masks or other facial coverings are to be worn by every individual within the salon  prior to leaving the vehicle and existing your tanning room. I understand that if I do not provide my own mask, I will be asked to purchase one for $2 + tax before I can enter.

When you arrive, you will check in at our front desk and your hands will be sanitized, and you will complete the Service Agreement if you have not done so already.

We are unable to offer our in-salon waiting area at this time. If we cannot immediately seat you for your service, you will be asked to return to your vehicle to wait. We will call or text you when your service provider is ready.

Unfortunately, only individuals who are actively receiving a service are allowed within the salon. Please arrive alone to your appointment. For guests under 18, a parent or guardian may be present for the consultation only. Exceptions can be made for those requiring a caretaker as our schedule allows.

Please only bring items that are essential for your service into the salon, such as a beverage, payment method, and phone. All other personal items, such as jackets, purses, laptops, and food must be left in your vehicle or at home.

Cash payments are STRONGLY discouraged at this time. If you would like, we are able to securely store your credit card information on file so that your transaction can be touchless.

Guests must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving. A temperature of 100.4 F or higher is considered a fever. Anyone who has symptoms of influenza, COVID-19, or the common cold, or whose temperature exceeds 100.3 degrees will be required to reschedule their service for another time.

While it breaks our hearts, right now we unfortunately cannot give you a hug or a handshake. Virtual and air hugs are encouraged!

Lotions will be available for sale. However we will not be able to let you touch the products.

SERVICE PROVIDER EXPECTATIONS

All Healthy Glow Staff will wear a mask or other facial covering at all times while within the facilty.

Stylists will wear a mask or other facial covering, face shield or eyewear, gloves, and an apron during your spray tan service. The required PPE will be changed between each service.

All service touch points, such as implements, workstations are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each guest.

springbreaktanning

You lucky spring breakers are returning to a different Lake Chelan. Snow has mostly melted, the sun is out, and a few brave flowers are poking their way through dusty patches of garden all over the mountains. While you may be glowing with sun-kissed, Cancun-skin now, it will inevitably fade just in time for spring in the northwest. Rather than start all over again during sundress season, maintain your spring break tan at Healthy Glow Tanning & Airbrush Salon!

You’ve heard of pre-tanning for vacation, but Chelan Valley's best tanning salon is offering a way to maintain your naturally beautiful tan well into summer. Here are a few tips for how to maintain your spring break tan with help from your Lake Chelan tanning salon.

Before:

  • Shower, exfoliate, and moisturize with natural products to balance your skin tone before tanning.
  • Remove all makeup, deodorants, perfumes, and other beauty products.
  • Ask your Beach Bum tanning consultant about the best tanning accelerator or amplifier for your specific skin type and budget.

After:

  • Ask about tanning extenders and moisturizers which will help prolong the life of your tan.

Their team of experienced tanning specialists and state-of-the-art equipment is gentle and extremely effective. HOW TO THROW A SPRAY TAN PARTY AT YOUR HOME!

With St. Patrick’s Day, wedding season and summer around the corner, it is a great time to throw a spray tanning party. A spray tanning party is an excellent way to have all of your close friends over, drink wine, eat snacks and get a gorgeous, golden tan. Follow these steps to have a successful and fun spray tan party at your house.

1. Book a mobile spray tan technician
Contact Healthy Glow Tanning and arrange for a day and time. Let us know how many people you are expecting so you can figure out the exact time frame and if one technician is enough.

2. Send out invitations or an E-vite
Gather the addresses or email address of everyone that you want to invite to your spray tan party. Select a fun invitation and include all the details of the party, such as time, date, address and what to wear. Recommend that your guests wear loose fitting, dark clothing and read through the Before & After Care info. You can put this information on the invitation or tell them when they RSVP.

3. Set up a spray tanning area
Clear out a small area in your house and set it up to be the spray tan area. We recommend doing this the day before the party to make sure nothing comes up that day. Having a designated area makes sure that all airbrush tanning solution and supplies are confined and makes it seem more professional. Your mobile spray tan technician will bring a pop up tent so that nothing will get in your house. This will allow guests to feel comfortable and will save your floor from any solution over spray.

4. Make themed snacks and drinks
Sun, swim suit or beach decorated cupcakes and cookies get everyone in the mood for a tan! You can also make some great low calories drinks, like a skinny margarita or wine spritzer, to help everyone relax. Purchase small umbrellas for the drinks to remind your guests of the beach.

Have fun and make sure your guests feel comfortable at all times! Make it a day to remember by going above and beyond to treat it like a tropical getaway that results in a beautiful, bronze color. Take a picture once the color has developed, you and your guests will love having a photo of the flattering tans!

Tanning Lotion 101

Every indoor tanning lotion is different. Some are tanning accelerators. Some are bronzers. Some contain special ingredients to make the surface of your skin feel warm or cool. However, most indoor lotions do not contain sunscreen and don’t offer protection from UV rays, because they are designed to harness those rays and enhance your tan.

Types of Indoor Tanning Lotions

Tingle and Hot Action Lotions: These products can be fun to try in your search for the ultimate tan, but are not recommended for first-time tanners. Hot action lotions contain an active ingredient like benzyl or methyl nicotinate, which promotes micro-circulation. More plainly, it increases blood flow and brings oxygen to the cells in your skin. This process of oxygenation will improve your tanning results. When you use these products you will experience a mild tingling, reddening and warming sensation on the skin’s surface. You might want to test these tanning lotions on a small area at first, because they can cause reactions for people with delicate or highly sensitive skin.

Bronzer Lotions: Some people are confused by indoor tanning lotions and self-tanning products. What’s the difference? Self-tanners contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a chemical that changes the cells of the skin. This chemical is also found in bronzing lotions. The nice thing about a bronzer is it gives you an instant tan, so you achieve that sun-kissed look immediately, and you continue to darken for hours after your session. With bronzers you typically wait a few hours after tanning before taking a shower, but it is recommended to wash your hands right away to avoid discoloration. The skin on your hands reacts differently to bronzers than the rest of your body and can sometimes get splotchy if they are not washed as soon as you’re done.

Accelerator & Maximizer Lotions: Accelerators and maximizers are great for beginning indoor tanners. They are formulated to help you quickly achieve a base tan, but normally don’t contain any added bronzers. They usually contain a large amount of moisturizers that allow the skin to tan more quickly and retain your color for a longer time. Once you build up a good base tan you can try a more intense bronzer or tingle lotion to give you that extra boost. What’s In Your Tanning Lotion?

With so many options available, carefully read product labels to find the lotion that’s right for your skin type and your level of tanning. Knowing the following terms will give you an advantage:

  • Hemp Seed Oil: Its nourishing and moisturizing properties make it a popular ingredient.
  • Body Blush: A type of product made for those who want a tingling effect but have sensitive skin.
  • Anti-Aging: These lotions contain added vitamins that help protect against premature signs of aging.
  • Shimmer: Glimmering additives in these projects have reflective properties that give your skin an added glow.
  • Caffeine: Caffeine is often added to reduce puffiness and energize your skin. Caffeine will absorb into the body, so if you are sensitive to caffeine or have eliminated it from your diet, steer clear of these lotions.
  • Silicon: Silicon is a mineral with moisturizing benefits. It’s used to help condition your skin.
  • Beta Carotene: Also called vitamin A. It enhances pigment coloration in your skin.
  • Vitamin E: Makes skin softer and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

The Perfect Wedding Spray Tan: 5 Tips From A Pro For A Very Natural Glow

tan bride

The dark tan may be out of style, but lots of brides still want to give their skin a little extra oomph by getting a spray tan. Here's what to keep in mind to make sure yours looks nice and even and not at all orange.

1. Exfoliate at least two times per week starting several months before your wedding day using an exfoliant. Exfoliation gets rid of dead skin cells that may prevent your wedding day tan from looking even and fresh.

2. When your skin is healthy and hydrated it holds a fake tan longer and better, so moisturize every day after your shower. Just avoid lotions that contain alcohol or anti-aging ingredients, as they tend to dry out the skin. But on the day of your spray tan, make sure you do not apply any lotion beforehand (or makeup or deodorant, which can also contain oils that keep the tan from soaking in). Your skin should be clean, dry and free of any products.

3. Always do waxing 24-48 hours before your spray tanning appointment. Doing this afterward can make the tan come off in those areas.

4. Book a trial appointment, maybe on the day of your engagement or bachelorette party. There are many different types of spray tanning solutions and techniques so it's best to find the one that's right for your skin.

5. For the most foolproof results, splurge on a tan administered by an experienced technician, not a session in an automatic spray-tan booth, where your results may be less even and realistic.

Will you be getting a spray tan before your wedding? Do any of you have tanning tips to add to this list?
